It is yellow orange in water, soluble in alcohol and fibrinolysin, slightly soluble in acetone and insoluble in benzene. Yellow in case of concentrated sulfuric acid and orange after dilution; Orange in the presence of nitric acid. Its aqueous solution plus sodium hydroxide solution generates reddish brown precipitation, which is dyed on the cotton fiber dyed with tannin mordant, showing yellow orange, which is more bright under tungsten filament light.
